June and nearly July--Pixtons

So I am either really late for June or pleasantly early for July.  Last week was our first week of summer break and it was busy!!  We had cub camp for Isaac and Caleb, Scout camp that Bruce helped with and taught a geology merit badge at, YW camp for Rachel and Bruce and I each helped a few days at cub camp.  So I felt like we were all going in a million different directions.  But everyone had a great time!  And now we are ready to have some free time this next week.

Manassas Battle Field during cub camp

June was full of all the end of the school year parties, celebrations and graduations.  Alex graduated from 5th grade is ready for middle school next year.  I was on the celebration planning committee and Bruce designed the t-shrit for the theme "Brave the New World".
He also designed the cub scout camp shirt for our ward--maybe he should open up a side business--as long as he doesn't quit his day job!

At camp Rachel came in second place at the final heat of the canoe racing.  She LOVES the canoes and has been so excited since last year at camp to do them again.  The team who won had a laurel who is leaving, so she already hopes to take first place next year.  I guess she takes after her dad--Bruce was on the crew team in high school.

Speaking of high school--this year is my 20 year reunion!!  Can you believe it!  You're on next year Tran!  It's 5 days after we leave Utah, so we won't be going, but it blows my mind how fast time flies!

Alex ran in the school Mustang Stampede for fun and ended up coming in 3rd or 4th or something like that.  He has discovered that he loves running and he is fast!  He wants to try out for the track team next year in middle school.

Julia "graduated" from preschool and is ready for kindergarten.

Rachel turned 13 and helped make her ice cream cake.  She had a swimming party with some friends to help celebrate

We are all well and happy and VERY excited to come to Utah in 18 days.  See you all soon!

June- Original Ackermanns

Second Try.... Hope things go through this time.

Rhubarb from Grandma (Alton loves fresh rhubarb) + cookie from Grandpa = what a treat!

Tying the quilt that I helped Aurie sew.It was so fun.

Tyler playing goalie at his special Olympic soccer game. He won a silver medal.

The free standing stump which has now been pulled out. Notice the gas line, dad spent hours digging around it. The gas company came and moved it over. They told dad they would hire him to be their digger because he did such a good job. Thanks, but no thanks.

Alton gets all the benefits of helping grandpa.

Our new little visitors footprints were found along the back deck and one by the blackberry bush in my garden. If you can't tell, it isn't a child's hand print... it is a raccoon and I will fight him for our garden!

Kara and Jeremy went camping and we went up for a day to visit. We enjoyed foil dinners and cinnamon rolls cooked in the fire. It was a lot of fun. We even saw a few deer walk through their campground.
It's taken me a while to get used to the blog, but here goes.
Summer is in full swing. The first week of summer vacation we took a family trip to Nauvoo. It was amazing! We camped in the park across the street from Nauvoo and spent 5 days in town. The kids loved all of it, but their favorite was definitely the performing missionaries. We went to just about every show. By the end of the week, the missionaries knew our kids by name.
The highlight was the temple. What a beautiful building! April did a session one morning, then that evening Blake was able to take Emisha and Abby to do baptisms. We weren't planning on taking the girls, so they didn't have dresses or reccommends. The temple president was happy to let them in without those. (Of course he called our Bishop.) They were so amazed at the beauty. It was exciting for them to be in a large temple. Our Temple in Oklahoma is smaller than a stake center.

Last week Blake went on a week long bike ride with the scouts in Missouri. He clocked over 120 miles in 4 days. Go Blake!
Next week April, Emisha, and Abby head to girls' camp. This is Emisha's second year, Abby's first year, and a lot more years for April. We are all excited.

June - Travis & Diana

Well I guess it is officially summer.  The kids have been out of school for a week now.  We celebrated Joshua's birthday over Memorial Weekend.  We had a little party/BBQ with all the locals.
Joshua's baptism was on Saturday, June 7th.  It was a great day for him and all of us.  Grandpa and Grandma Ackermann, Kara and Jeremy, and cousins from Boise came.
Travis left for scout camp on Monday (we are sure glad to have him home) and Aurie left on Tuesday for girl's camp.  Aurie had a great time.  Our cousins from Boise stayed until Wednesday.  We were able to do some fun things.  Go to the movie, swimming, and the zoo.  The boys enjoyed collecting bugs and snails in between time.  It was nice to have someone here to break up the week with Travis being gone.
We are officially listing our house for sale on Friday.  We are keeping our fingers crossed that it will go quickly since we already found a house and they accepted our offer.  So, of course we have a huge list of things that need to be done.  I'm hoping to have the transition all done before school starts in August.
Other than that, we are all doing well.  Looking forward to seeing those of you who will be coming out this summer.

June-Saldivars

Jeremy made this video for me for our anniversary and I absolutely love it! I wanted to share with everyone, but it won't let me upload on facebook because the song is copyrighted. Hopefully it will upload on here because it really is special. I love Jeremy! Thanks for my present!

June- Saldivars

Hello! I know it has been a while since the last time I did a blog, so let me tell everyone all our exciting things for the past couple months. First, Jeremy graduated Salt Lake Community College with his associates degree in general studies. He applied and was accepted to the Utah Valley University in Orem and will be starting school in the fall. He is studying computer science. We just found an apartment (like this morning) that we liked and signed the contract to live there. After apartment searching for over a year, I am so excited to finally find one that is big, cheap and in a great location. It is in Pleasant Grove which is a 30 minute commute for me to go to work, and a 10-15 minute commute for Jeremy to go to school and work. 30 minutes isn't ideal, but it is better than most of our other options that were so much further. Plus, I already drive 20 minutes to work now, what is an extra 10 minutes...

This Saturday is our 2 year anniversary. We went to Lagoon a couple days ago and had a lot of fun. It was a relaxing trip. Instead of going ride to ride to ride, we took our time going on our favorite rides. Then we watched one of their music concerts shows and then went swimming for a couple hours. It was relaxing and still a lot of fun. Hopefully, Friday we can stay the night in Evanston and then go to lunch with Jeremy's family on Saturday at a Mexican restaurant in Evanston. It should be a nice get-a-way.

Everything is going well for us. We are excited for family visiting soon. We love you all.
