Saldivars October 2015

Just some quick pictures of our fall....
Cascade Springs in September

Cathedral Gorge with the family. I didn't do as much hiking as I was hoping,
but at least I had a good excuse.

Our newest member of the family, James Nelson Saldivar. He was born Oct 9th at 12:17am. He was 19 1/2 inches long and 6 lbs 2 oz. I had quite the experience delivering him. He was a footling breeched baby probably my entire pregnancy. We were planning on physically flipping him on Oct 19th if he didn't flip himself. (I found out later that I have a heart shaped uterus which is why he couldn't flip) There was a 50% chance of it actually working. If it did work, the doctor would break my water and I would stay in the hospital until I started labor. If it didn't work then I would just do a c-section.
On the 8th, I felt perfectly normal all day. I even called mom to tell her the plan for the 19th. About two hours later, my water broke unexpectedly. I didn't have any contractions until about an hour after it broke, weird right? I was actually having a contraction as they put the epidural in and I felt everything go numb. It was a great relief, but I soon panicked because then I felt paralyzed. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't move my legs, feet or even toes. It was a scary feeling. On top of that  I was being prepped for a c-section and I was afraid of what that would be like.
Needless to say, I made it out alive and both James and I are doing well. It is hard to not be able to do anything. I can do it, but I am not supposed to. They say don't lift anything more than a baby. Today I had to go to the doctors and I was by myself so I figured I would just carry James in the carseat out to the car. I did that just fine, however now my 8 inch cut hurts and there isn't much I can do but just sit on the couch the rest of the night. I learned my lesson. Just because I can, doesn't mean I should.  I hope I heal quickly. I can already bend over and pick something up, get in and out of bed with no pain, lay on both sides at night, and can move around pretty easily. Now I just need to get strength back in my legs, bring down the swelling in my giant swollen feet, and wait for my incision to heal all the way, especially on the inside. Wish me luck!
I hope everyone is doing well. Love you all!

Original Ackermanns October 2015

I  haven't written since April so this is going to be crazy!

Tyler was so excited...he actually made a point.  He kicked a goal in Special Olympics.

Tyler has taken up cooking.  He makes cobblers, cookies, blueberry muffins, etc.

In Special Needs Mutual, Tyler was able to dance, be Shrek in their play, and lead the music.

This is the beginning of our new fence that Gerhard built along our driveway.

Do you know your aunts and uncles?

Blueberry pancakes for breakfast at Redman Campground near Brighton.

Hiking with grandpa around Silver Lake by Brighton

During a cloudburst, our basement stairwell flooded.  This was how high it went up the door...8".  We got water in the basement and ended up ripping out some of the old carpet and pad.  What a mess.

Tuacahn in St. George.  We saw the Disney special When You Wish.

In St. George, uncle Bill let Tyler drive the four wheeler...Scarry!

Bret and Andrew at Honeycomb rock by Enterprise, Utah.  We had a picnic there.

Tyler climbing in Cathedral Gorge in Nevada.  It was part of our day-trip out of Enterprise.

Diana's dad had this stagecoach in his barn at Enterprise.  Of course we had to get in it.

The girls at Kara's baby shower in our backyard.

James, the newest member of our family, in Kara's arms.

 James Nelson Saldivar...cute isn't he.

Gerhard's fence when it was done.  Check it out.

Going on a hayride to get pumpkins at Day's Farm in Layton, Utah.

Well, this has been a little of what we have been doing this summer.  Tyler accidentally deleted the rest of the pictures we wanted to show from his Camp Kostopolus trip to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and his scout camp to Smith & Morehouse where he caught fish and fell off his horse.  He was pretty sore for a while.
