Well, I guess let me be the first to say Happy New Year to everyone! It's been a LONG time. My new goal for the new year is to stay on top of my blogging. Obviously I am not going to catch up on half of last year but I thought I would do a couple highlights.
In June James got baptized.
Over the summer we had our pilgrimage out west. We stopped in Texas, Mesa Verde, Arches, St. Louis and then got to see everyone too! We loved it!!
James, Colby, and Nate all started a new charter school that just opened. I am a PTO officer, substitute teach, and spend probably too much of my time there. The kids love it though.
Clay had his tonsils out. They almost completely blocked his throat. He is sleeping a lot better now.
The kids did swim team over the summer and played soccer in the fall with Jimmy coaching all three teams.
In November we did my long coming trip to Disney World. We did Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. I loved every second of it and so did the kids! I was surprised that Jimmy did too!
I will mention that we got a puppy in November of last year. Her name is Maddy. The funny thing is I didn't know or realize that the Pixtons named their dog that too. Oh well. She is a boxer mix that we got from the humane society.
Alright now for this last month. We have a tradition to go to Hollywild to see the Christmas lights for Jimmy's Birthday. We pile in the back of our truck and look at the lights and then drive threw the fields of animals and feed them. It is pretty ghetto and probably not fully legal which is why it is so great.
We had a good Christmas and hope that everyone else did too. This is us dressed up as "whos" for our ward How the Grinch Stole Christmas party. It seems like a fun idea but it isn't that easy unless you go way out, and we didn't.
This is the boys on Christmas Eve to excited to go to bed.
For New years we rented a cabin with some of our friends up the mountain. We brought in the new year hiking.
The kids all started Wrestling at the school. The elementary practices twice a day after school but can go everyday if they want. My boys love it so much that they want to go everyday. I ask them every morning thinking that might want a break eventually, but they don't. That is now James' new dream profession. It is their first year so they aren't that good and don't win a lot in the tournaments but that doesn't stop them. They are actually getting a lot better fast. And as if that wasn't enough, they are doing basketball as well.
You wouldn't think South Carolina had ice skating but they make a like rink for us for a few weeks in the winter.
Jimmy is staying busy with end of the year/new year projects. He is actually in California right now doing their big yearly meeting. I am trying to stay afloat as I'm sure you all understand. I just got called to be the Cub Master and had my first pack night last night. Nate and Clay got the flu last week but it was very mild. And of course we are busy trying to train a dog. She still has a few accidents but she is doing well listening and can understand sit, lay, down, kennel, no, and shake. She joins in with the boys wrestling at home.
Even though I haven't been posting, I have been reading all your guys posts and it is great to see how you are all doing. Hopefully I can do better.
